So where to begin?

Ah, the infinite wisdom of the first blog... where to begin. Like any race, (a marathon's a race right?) at the start.

So a few months ago I signed up for a program, the 12WBT. It promised the world and I was sceptical. Of course I was. Why would this program make any difference?

I was 38 years of age, had had a baby about 15 months earlier, and had become somewhat of a frump.  Don't get me wrong, I wasn't massively overweight, but I was in the 'overweight' category if you relied on BMI stats.

I knew all the ins and outs of good eating. I just ignored what I knew most of the time. Whilst we didn't eat junk food, we ate very good food. A lot of it. Portion sizes were letting me down.

Now I'm rambling.

Anyway, after a fair bit of research (read: Googling) I decided to give the 12WBT program a shot.

Without giving too much away (it's really one of those things that you need to do for yourself) one of the things you do in the lead up to Day One is setting goals.

My obvious first goal to set was that of weight loss. I weighed 69kg. Now for some this might be fine - but at a lofty 159cm (5'3" in the old measure) this isn't great. I also decided to set some other goals - one of which was to run a marathon. Hmm.

One month: Run 4km no stopping. Tick!
Three months: Run 10km no stopping
Six months: Run a half marathon
Twelve months: Run a marathon

Will it be possible?

Watch and wait and see.
